COMPASS is a computerized adaptive testing system that helps place students into appropriate mathematics, reading, and writing classes. Students who score less than 18 in Reading, English or Math are required to take the COMPASS test. In addition, students wanting to take college algebra must have a math ACT of at least 20 to be exempt from the math COMPASS test.
