How do I apply for scholarships?

Each year West Kentucky Community and Technical College recognizes and rewards outstanding scholastic achievements by awarding merit-based scholarships and special awards to deserving students. Students must submit a scholarship application to be considered. The WKCTC scholarship brochure and applications are available in the Scholarship Office in Carson Hall (second floor).

The brochure lists all scholarships available to WKCTC students.

The brochure includes listings for automatic, general and need-based scholarships.

A student may receive only one scholarship.

General and need-based scholarships are funded according to availability.

Please review the brochure completely and read all application instructions.

Scholarships are awarded one time per year. Applications for the 2008– 2009 academic year are due to the Scholarship Office on March 3, 2008 by 4:30 p.m. Award notifications are mailed in April of each year.

WKCTC Scholarship Eligibility Guidelines

Automatic Scholarships Current high school seniors are eligible for automatic scholarships at WKCTC if:

An ACT score has been received They meet additional GPA/ACT, class rank or National Merit requirements set below, and They are a full time student.

Currently enrolled WKCTC students are eligible for automatic scholarships if:

They have a cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.90 or above, They have completed a minimum of 24 and no more than 35 graded college hours at WKCTC (PCC and WKTC credits apply.  Developmental classes excluded.), and They are a full time student.

General & Need Based Scholarships Current high school seniors and currently enrolled WKCTC students are eligible for general and need-based scholarships at WKCTC if:

They have a 3.00 cumulative GPA (exceptions noted), they meet the specific scholarship criteria, and they are a full time student.

Currently enrolled WKCTC students are eligible for general and need-based scholarships as described if

They have a cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.00 or above They are a full time student

Other Scholarships Currently enrolled WKCTC students are eligible for other scholarships if:

They have a cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.00 or above They have completed a minimum of 12 and less than 24 graded college hours at WKCTC by the end of spring semester. (PCC and WKTC credits apply. Developmental classes are included.)
