National Science Foundation STEM Scholarship
Manufacturing Technology and Pre-Engineering
West
Kentucky Community and Technical College is pleased to offer
the National Science Foundation STEM Scholarship for students
pursuing a Manufacturing Technology or Pre-Engineering related
program for the 2008-2009 academic year. This scholarship award
is based on financial need, academic potential, and underrepresented
population in a technical and engineering related discipline.
WKCTC will award 10 scholarships to students that meet the eligibility
requirements and successfully complete the application process.
Each scholarship is based on a 2.5 GPA and completion of 30 credit
hours within the academic year.
Applications
for the NSF Scholarship are due to Stephanie Milliken, Principal
Investigator, on June 12, 2008 by 4:00 pm. Award notification
will be mailed in July.

Eligibility
Guidelines –
- U.S. citizen,
nationals, refugee aliens, or permanent resident aliens at the
time of application;
- Be enrolled full-time (minimum
15 credit hours in fall semester) with a major in a technical
or engineering related program;
- Demonstrate academic potential
and/or ability based upon high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores
including composite and science scores, or COMPASS scores;
- Demonstrate financial need as
defined by the U.S. Department of Education eligibility rules
for need-based federal financial aid.
- Include 500 word application essay on goals and expectations of chosen career path.
