Health Career Training (HUC)

nurses with patientWest Kentucky Community & Technical College is pleased to announce that we are offering an online course to prepare those who wish to seek employment as a Health Unit Coordinator.  This course is available through the College's Workforce Solutions department.  in this course, students learn the responsibilities of becoming an important, integral member of the health care team.  The theory portion is self-paced with a required book and on-line assistance by a faculty member.  Students exit well prepared to obtain a job in a health care setting, even without clinical experience.
 
Interested students should be aware that most hospitals and health care facilities require employees to pass a criminal background and/or drug screen check before being hired.  Additionall, most hospitals and health care settings require a high school diploma or GED to be hired.

This course is also open entry, meaning it can be started at anytime during the year.  To further prepare for the job market, medical terminology and keyboarding classes are also suggested.  Please refer to the Workforce Solutions department for information regarding fees and payment.

Upon successsful completion of the course, the student will qualify to recieve a certificate in "Online Basic Understanding of Health Unit Coordinating."
