WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring "real world" skills that employers believe are critical to job success. These skills are valuable for any occupation, skilled or professional, and at any level of education. Kentucky students and employees can earn the Kentucky Employability Certificate (KEC) through WorkKeys testing. The KEC certifies that a person has earned high skill levels in areas important to Kentucky employers. Please visit http://www.kctcs.edu/workforcenetwork/kec to learn more about how Kentucky employers use WorkKeys and the KEC.
West Kentucky Community & Technical College administers WorkKeys in the Emerging Technology Center. Four of the six tests given are web based tests. Tests available include: reading for information (web based), locating information (web based), applied math (web based), applied technology (web based), teamwork (paper test), and observation (paper test). The two paper tests can be as much as $40.00 each extra to score. To learn more about the ACT WorkKeys system, please visit http://www.act.org/workkeys/assess/index.html. This site also provides sample questions and an overview of each test.
