Amanda Boyd studying to be physical therapist assistant and she will graduate with her Associate of Science degree in December 2013. She plans to continue her education, earning a master’s degree in education or dietetics or a doctorate in physical therapy. She isn’t sure yet, but she knows she will eventually teach in a field that empowers and changes lives of others. “My life goals are to impact the world, one life at a time.”
Amanda was recently named as one of only nine students in Kentucky to be selected for the 2013 Kentucky Physical Therapy Association All–Academic Team. She volunteers with the college’s annual scholarship auction, Clemens Fine Arts Center and other campus events and activities. She also volunteers with community organizations such as the United Way, Salvation Army and Easter Seals West Kentucky.
Amanda says being a Student Ambassador has improved her college experience by providing her with the opportunity to expand her knowledge of the college and utilize her love for helping individuals succeed.
“WKCTC really has a special place in my heart. I would tell others that WKCTC is a student friendly environment – don’t take advantage of the kindness, dedication, and instruction, but instead embrace it and find yourself- develop yourself with the abundance of tools WKCTC has to offer.”
