Formally, Online Learning or Distance Learning, Learn by Term is our more traditional online offering. Learn by Term offers typical semester-long courses online. Learn by Term also provides complete online degree, certificate, and diploma programs, that are affordable. While these offerings are primarily offered online, some require exams and lab activities which may require on-site visits at an approved location convenient for the student.
If attending classes on a regular basis during the day or evening is simply not possible with your busy schedule, we have the solution. Using Learn by Term, you can take classes virtually wherever you want.
Through our partnership with the Kentucky Virtual Campus, you can take more than 1,100 classes. Using our virtual library, online bookstore, and 24-hour help, you can finish an entire program from the comfort of your home or office.
You attend courses through instruction on the Internet, on Kentucky Education Television (KET), or on Instructional Television (ITV). You simply need access to the appropriate technology.
A computer with Internet access and an e-mail account. You should know basic word processing, how to use e-mail, and how to attach documents. You will communicate with faculty and students by e-mail or in discussion groups.
While online learning is attractive to many students, not everyone is well-suited to this environment. Online learning does require commitment and self-discipline. Find out more about this learning option.
More than 1,100 courses are available for dozens of programs leading to a wide variety of degrees, diplomas, and certificates. You can also transfer credits to other institutions.
The cost of an online course is the same as an on-campus course and the same for in-state and out-of-state students.
