Opportunities in criminal justice are vast and growing. According to recent Bureau of Justice statistics, federal, state, and local governments spent an estimated $204 billion for law enforcement, corrections, and judicial related activities. Graduates are not restricted to government work. Business and industry now employ qualified professionals who are skilled in safety and security. Locally and nationally, according to recent U. S. Department of Labor figures, earnings for many criminal justice positions are over $45,000.
The criminal justice system has changed significantly over the last two decades. Applicants with minimal job skills can no longer expect to be hired. Criminal justice practitioners can no longer expect to advance without education and training.
