West Kentucky Community & Technical College will offer a new Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration with a Hospitality Management option in the Spring 2009.
College officials said the new degree offering was developed in response to the growing demands the hospitality industry is facing both nationwide and in our area.
“Our goal is to offer students the “real-world”, hands-on skills which will make them ready to join the hospitality industry or develop new knowledge and skills to better prepare them for their current employment and the future opportunities we feel will become available with the influx of new hotels, restaurants, and tourism opportunities in Western Kentucky,” said Allison McGullion, Business Administration Program Coordinator at WKCTC.
This degree option will provide the necessary basic business and management skills and will also focus on gaming, lodging, tourism and restaurant management. The first class that will be offered is Introduction to Hospitality Management. This class will meet in the spring on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and is web-enhanced.
Courses will be offered in a variety of formats to make this degree option available to students working a full-time job. For more information, contact McGullion at (270) 534-3274.
