2008 marks the fifth year anniversary of the consolidation of West Kentucky Technical College and Paducah Community College and the formation of West Kentucky Community and Technical College. I have taken the last few weeks to meet in small groups with faculty, staff and students to assess where the college community feels we rank in our desire to be known as a premier comprehensive community college in the national arena. Determined Single Mom Improves Life Through Education

When 27-year-old Christina Yamauchi arrived in the United States 10 years ago from Japan, she knew little English.
Her mother, Debbie Williams who works today at Hickman County Elementary School, wanted to move back to the United States near her family in western Kentucky, but her father, a construction worker, stayed in Japan. (more) |

WKCTC Receives Grant for Scholarship Program |

U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield announced on March 4, 2008 that West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) will receive an estimated $569,582 over the next five years for a scholarship program, making it possible for more Kentucky citizens to attend the college. (more) |
