The WKCTC Start! Heart Walk program will kick off on Monday, July 11, and will end on Monday, September 5.  Students and employees are welcome to join by Monday, July 11.  WKCTC has been involved with the Start! program for several years and many of you have been on one or more of those teams. If you’ve never participated, the Start! Heart Walk supports research, education, and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association. Each year millions of dollars are raised to help fight heart disease.

I’m sure we all know someone that has suffered from heart problems and this is our chance, as a college, to raise money for a good cause! We will have several fundraisers to raise money for this benefit.

One way the team raises money is through the Team Heart Walk. We had 38 faculty and staff on the team last year and they walked an amazing 3,460 miles. Friends and family donated to the cause by sponsoring the walkers.  With the walking donations and other fundraisers, the team raised $3,542 for the AHA.

You do not have to raise funds to be a team member and walk for a healthier you. This year, our goal is 50 team members.
