PINWhat is a cosmetologist?

The mission of the Cosmetology program is to provide comprehensive instruction to students who will be seeking employment in the beauty culture field.

A licensed cosmetologist is someone who is an expert in the care of hair, nails and skincare, as well as makeup and beauty products. Cosmetologists are expanded into multiple fields including cutting and chemically treating hair, coloring, extensions, perms, cuts, manicures, pedicures, chemical hair removal, fashion trends, wigs, skin and hair analysis; relaxation techniques including reflexology of the head, neck, scalp, hand, feet  and basic massage and aroma therapies. Plus ability to expertly apply makeup applications to cover or promote and apply theatrical applications. Cosmetologists often style hair for weddings, proms, and other special events, and funerals in addition to routine hair styling.
